    My journey began as a kid baling hay in the hot Virginia sun, swinging a hammer on a construction site, squeezed into crawl spaces, and installing insulation in attics. I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do when I grew up, but I knew it involved wearing a clean white shirt and working in an air-conditioned office!

I started living that dream in my twenties. For the next 40 years, I didn't just study business in theory; I lived it through business ownership and corporate leadership across multiple fields, and always with my own money on the line. Many of those ventures did not work out, and I still have the scar tissue to prove it—but the setbacks never put out the fire that churned in my gut.

For a significant portion of that time, I served as an Investment Portfolio Manager for high-net-worth clients. That role became a masterclass in business strategy, leadership, and resilience. My clients were mostly entrepreneurs, CEOs, and established business owners who generously shared the daily realities of scaling, leading, and innovating.
